Carbon60 is Now an AWS Standard Consulting Partner November 27, 2017 Mission accomplished! Within just a few short months, the Carbon60 team put in the hard work necessary to not just meet, but also surpass the requirements of being a Standard Status Consulting Partner in the AWS Partner Network (APN). This is just the beginning as we set our sights on helping more companies with their hybrid cloud journey using Carbon60’s Managed AWS Cloud service. Our own journey began this past Spring after meeting with the AWS Canada team. While we’ve been deploying customer solutions on AWS and other global clouds for several years, AWS has only been on Canadian soil for a year. We decided to go all-in on the internal enablement to accelerate our journey more formally. We announced the program at our Employee Experience Day celebration in June. The first step was for everyone on the team to complete the APN recommended on-line training modules to level the playing field in terms of the AWS language. As an added incentive, for completing each accreditation the team would receive considerable gift cards. This applied to all functions – Operations, Sales, Marketing and Finance and across the management team. We had a fantastic participation rate in this part of the program. Again, we’re all-in on this goal. The next step was for the technical team members to train up for any of the AWS Certifications using the learning method that worked best for them. Several employees devoted countless hours, sometimes on their own time, to learn and prepare for the certification exam. The good news for them personally and the Carbon60 team as a whole is that they achieved the certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps Administrator all at the Associate Level) which our customers will ultimately benefit from. The best news is that they’re also the winners of the grand prize for a trip to Las Vegas for the annual 2017 AWS re:Invent conference to absorb more knowledge to bring innovative solutions to our customers…and have some fun over the week. Reaching the Standard Consulting Partner status is just the beginning. We will continue our journey with more certifications and more importantly to help customers succeed with AWS and hybrid cloud hosting based on our experience and track record in managing IT with focus on performance and security. Carbon60 has been a managed hosting provider for over 17 years and we recognize the immense incremental opportunity that AWS brings to us to support even more customers not only here in Canada, but globally by taking advantage of AWS’ reach. Our basic value proposition for customers has effectively improved. Managing complex infrastructure will always be a challenge for organizations whether using in-house private, public cloud or a combination and requires a team to support it 24×7 securely and with the right governance. Now, Carbon60 simply has more options to support customers who still prefer to leave the complexity to us while they focus on their strategic business and technology priorities.
